GERMANY STUDENT FILMMAKER AWARD

Set up by Sony Germany and Creo, the Germany Student Filmmaker Award recognises emerging talent from across Germany, offering a platform for those studying film to gain recognition and kickstart their careers.

The competition rewards a shortlist of up to seven filmmakers, with one filmmaker winning the title of Germany Student Filmmaker Award Winner.

Finalists and a representative from each of their universities will be invited to attend a screening and awards ceremony in Berlin, in the summer of 2027, where the overall winner will be announced.

The recognised filmmakers receive:

All filmmakers residing in Germany who enter the Student category of the Sony Future Filmmaker Awards are automatically considered for the award, with no additional entry process required.
