CHINA FILMMAKER AWARD

Set up by Sony China and Creo, the China Filmmaker Award recognises outstanding filmmaking talent from across China, helping to bring greater local and international recognition to filmmakers and their work.

One filmmaker will receive the title of China Filmmaker Award Winner, from a shortlist of up to 5 filmmakers.

The finalists will be invited to an award ceremony in LA, flights and accommodation included. The Award Winner will be invited to take part in an immersive industry programme at Sony Pictures Studios, offering an opportunity to gain insight into the film industry and connect with fellow emerging filmmakers.

Recognised filmmakers receive:

Certificate	x
Promotion via Sony channels	x	x

All filmmakers residing in China who enter the Fiction, Non-Fiction or Student categories of the Sony Future Filmmaker Awards are automatically considered for the award, with no additional entry process required.

Deadline is December 15, 2026, 9:00 PM China Standard Time

* Participants must have Chinese residency and reside in China during the period of the Award being open for entries (July 2026 - December 2027).
